Is Your Charging Strategy Killing Your Batteries?

Not every operation runs the same way, which is why there are several distinct methods for keeping your fleet moving:

  • Conventional Charging: Conventional Charging is the standard cycle for industrial lead-acid batteries, consisting of the "8-8-8" cycle: 8 hours of use, 8 hours of charging, and 8 hours of cooling to achieve a full recharge. This is ideal for single-shift operations.
  • Opportunity Charging: Opportunity Charging is the practice of charging the battery in short bursts during breaks or downtime, commonly used in multi-shirt applications to eliminate battery swapping and keep the equipment running.
  • Fast Charging: Fast Charging is a high-current, high-power method to charge the battery in short, frequent bursts during breaks, lunch, or shift changes. It is primarily used in high-demand, multi-shift applications to run a single battery all day and eliminate the need for battery swapping.
  • Lithium Battery Charging: The PowerHouse Access charger is compatible with most popular lithium battery systems including those that directly control the charger output via CANbus.
